Shoal Creek Campground does exist.  It is not in the federal witness protection program, neither is it closed nor is it a mythical place, such as Brigadoon.

It’s just hard to find information on this glorious place to relax on Lake Lanier.

Shoal Creek Campground is owned by the US Army Corps of Engineers (ACE).  All ACE campgrounds on Lanier use Recreation.gov for descriptions and reservations — except Shoal Creek.

Lake Lanier Islands Resort leases this exceptional camping area and they handle the maintenance, promotion and reservations.  All the links you’ll need to make reservations are below.

This park is about seven miles from Lake Lanier Islands on Shadburn Ferry Road, just off Buford Dam Road.  Campers will love the large wooded sites with tables, fire rings and grills.  They are all suitable for RVs or tents.

There are primitive lakeside campsites, in addition to those with handy access to electricity.  The views from the walking trails are spectacular.
