Our pal, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mobile District Deputy Public Affairs Officer Lisa Parker is so important (How important is she?) that she still works while the morons in Washington are deadlocked and the federal government is shut down.

It’s quite an honor that Miss Lisa is one of the Favored Ones who get to work during this mess, until you realize that her co-workers will be paid for NOT working during the shutdown.

Anyway …

Miss Lisa tells lakelanier.com:

Buford Dam Road in its entirety along federal property will be closed on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, for the construction of three pedestrian cross-walks, weather permitting. These pedestrian crosswalks will include new speed bumps and striping.

During this time, all parks with entrances on Buford Dam Road will also be closed:

  • Upper Overlook
  • Lower Pool East (Powerhouse)
  • Lower Overlook
  • Lower Pool West
  • West Bank Turn-out and
  • West Bank Park.

The Lake Lanier Project Management Office and Visitor Center will also be closed to public access on October 15th, as well.

God bless America.
