Perseverance keeps Lake Lanier, clean, safe and full, as you’ll read in the Lake Lanier Association newsletter.
Thirty years ago — in 1988 — the Lake Lanier Association (LLA) held its first Shore Sweep event. LLA’s volunteers have removed tons of junk from Lanier ever since. Their 30th Anniversary Shore Sweep was the best yet!
The Lake Lanier Association orchestrates a thousand Shore Sweep volunteers to collect trash from Lake Lanier annually. Although this year’s event on Saturday, September 15, 2018 is officially scheduled from 8 AM until 1 PM, they could use your help even before the big day.
It’s hard to believe the brainchild of the Lake Lanier Association is getting so old. Come celebrate Shore Sweep’s 30th birthday with a party on August 25, 2018, at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.
It’s like the movie, High Noon, without horses. Joanna Cloud, executive director of the Lake Lanier Association (LLA), is the sheriff of Lake Lanier and she and her gang are removing derelict docks and boats from Lanier. And they won’t stop until they’ve driven all the jetsam from the lake.
This is the last call for Shore Sweep volunteers to pitch in to pitch out the trash from Lake Lanier on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017.
Pick up enough junk and you’ll earn a Shore Sweep T-shirt that will tell the world that you are worthy of extra love, admiration and (maybe) that last slice of pizza.
