Winter Camping on Lake Lanier

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who think winter camping on Lake Lanier sounds terrific and those who believe the words “winter” and “camping” should never be used in the same sentence.

If you’re a fan of camping out in the winter, we have good news for you.  You still have time to make reservations at Sawnee Campgrounds and Bolding Mill Campgrounds so you and your family can truly chill out on Lake Lanier this winter.

Why spend the holidays with zillions of strangers at Times Square when you can have a lakeside site all to yourself — with pleasant neighbors near by.

Simply go online and choose your dates and spots to get away from it all for a night or two.  The gate houses at Sawnee and Bolding Mill are closed, but the recreational area is open.  You can reserve your home away from home u to six months in advance.
