Georgia Bass Nation State Classic on Lake Lanier

Georgia Bass Nation

Lake Lanier has so much to offer visitors and local residents, especially those who fish.  The “megaramp” at Laurel Park will host the Georgia BASS Nation State Classic Wednesday – Friday, October 25 – 28, 2017.

Our friends with the Gainesville Convention and Visitors Bureau worked closely with officials from the Georgia BASS Nation to bring this tournament to Lake Lanier.

Georgia BASS Nation is made up of High School, Collegiate, and Adult members throughout the state of Georgia. This tournament is the highlight of the year being our State Classic and our largest annual event. The State Classic involves Six Contestants on a team from each club in the state competing for spots towards the BASS Nation Eastern Regional as a lead up tournament to qualify for the Bassmaster Classic. This is the true chance for the amateur Bass Fisherman to qualify for the pinnacle event in all of bass fishing.

During September and early October many  individual clubs will hold their own tournaments  on Lanier to practice for the Georgia BASS Nation State Classic.  Anglers and families from all over the State of Georgia that will bring significant economic impact to the City of Gainesville.

Georgia BASS Nation and the Gainesville Convention and Visitors Bureau are looking for volunteers to help with this memorable event.  If you would like to pitch in, please contact:
