Happy Thanksgiving!

Lake Lanier ~~ Photograph by Robert Sutherland

There have been hard days and nights on Lake Lanier this year.

Not everyone who came to the lake to enjoy fun times with family and friends returned home afterward.  We grieve with those who grieve.

We live, work and play in one of the most beautiful spots anywhere.  We’re safe, free and Lake Lanier is our playground.

We’re thankful for those who protect Lake Lanier and for those who keep its shores clean.

We’re thankful for those who promote the lake and who inspire tourists to visit and vacation here.

Yes, we’re even thankful for the Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Natural Resources and the many state, federal and local agencies that patrol, preserve and maintain Lake Lanier.

We are thankful for the heroes who risk their lives to protect us when tragedy strikes … especially the search and rescue teams who respond any time of day or night in any kind of weather.

It’s a good life on Lake Lanier.

We thank God we live here.

Pray for rain!

And for the safety of those who visit our haven of rest.
