What a blast!
The first-ever NASCAR race at Road Atlanta was everything a race lover could ever want. Trading paint. Cars spinning out. Noise. Fast cars … and lots of confused drivers and spectators.
This contest was all part of the action surrounding the Petit Le Mans race on October 19, 2013, at Road Atlanta.
The drivers in the K&N Pro Series race — once they got the hang of turning left AND right — were exciting to watch. This wasn’t a banked short oval. Road Atlanta is 2.54 miles of racing uphill, downhill — with a 90-degree left turn followed immediately by a 90-degree right turn at the bottom — and zippy straightaways.
If NASCAR doesn’t have more races at Road Atlanta they’re crazy.

Everything was fine, once the drivers figured out they had to turn left AND right.

When they did … the race was on!
