Although the feat of racing for 10-hours or 1,000 miles is common to mothers with kids who must be driven to play sports, take music, ballet and/or karate lessons — simultaneously — for the rest of us, the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta is beyond our comprehension.

Imagine racing a car around a 2.54 mile track — up and down, left and right — with dozens of other faster and slower cars fighting for position.  It’s even more wild than Spaghetti Junction on a Friday night.

After qualifying events and the NASCAR K&N Pros Series race on Friday, the big race begins on Saturday, October 19, 2013: the Petit Le Mans.

All five classes of cars in this year’s Petit Le Mans will take warm-up laps beginning just after 9 AM.  Then, at 11:30 AM, the race is on!

Don’t miss this world-class event at Road Atlanta, near Braselton, GA.

Tickets are available at the gate.

Kids 12 and under get in free when accompanied by adults with tickets for the races.  There will be plenty of food, porta-potties and racing to make your kids think you’re a hero.

At least for a day.
