Late Summer Striper Fishing on Lake Lanier

watson 2Shane Watson Guide Service Report (8-22-13)

Since my last report our boats have been out daily.

We’ve caught stripers up to 37 pounds on downlined bluebacks fished 40-80 feet deep in the mouths of creeks and out over the main channel.  We are still catching a few on leadcore with a live blueback tipped jig in these same areas, but downlines have been best.

Expect an early fall topwater bite, if the weather continues to stay cooler than usual.

This report is brought to you by Shane Watson Guide Service, Hammond’s Fishing Center, Carolina Skiff Boats, Suzuki Marine, Batteries Plus, Magic Tilt, Lowrance, Eagle Claw, and Minn Kota.

We Appreciate Your Business and Good Fishing.
