Lanier Islands Kicks Off Game Day Lanier on Saturday September 17

The weather is turning, the heat is on its way out (hallelujah), and if you’re like the rest of Georgia, your weekends are about to be consumed with football.  This football season, you don’t have to be at the game or stuck glued to your TV inside.  Lanier Islands will be the best destination outside the stadium for football viewing and tailgating in Georgia this fall.

Game Day Lanier at Lanier Islands will feature row after row of prime beach seating in front of one spectacular five-story, high-definition screen.  It’ll be the next best thing to seats on the 50-yard line.

New Tradition in Tailgating with Game Day Lanier

Lanier Islands VP of Sales and Marketing, Stephanie Orr, states,

“We’re really excited about the launch of a new tradition in tailgating with Game Day Lanier and hope to become a go-to destination for countless football fans and clubs”.

Lanier Islands knows how to do tailgating right.  In addition to the nice breeze that goes along with the prime beach seating, guests will have access to the bars, concessions and restaurants along the boardwalk of Lanier World.  There’ll also be inflatables for the kids, pickup games of beach volleyball, corn-hole, toss the pigskin in the sand, and more.

Game Day Lanier Kicks Off with a Bang on September 17th

The premiere Game Day Lanier event will kick off on Saturday, September 17th with a bang.  The lineup includes the Georgia Tech vs. Vanderbilt game at 12:30pm, Alabama vs. Ole Miss game at 3:30pm and the UGA vs. Missouri game at 7:30pm.

But that’s not all…. the premiere event will have food and gaming trucks, street performers, a marching band, kids’ activities, prizes, giveaways, and much more.  UGA greats David Greene and D.J. Shockley will be there on September 17th to sign autographs.  In addition to all this fun, there’s a firework show scheduled for half-time during the UGA game.
