There’s a deeper meaning too:

“Of course, the real reason for this particular holiday weekend is never lost on us,” explained Cindy Wahl, Lanier Islands Director of Marketing.

“As we honor our brave heroes who fought and died for our country, we will also pay tribute to our local heroes for the sacrifices they make to keep us safe every day.  Lanier Islands is honored to once again extend free admission to LanierWorld to members of our military, police force and fire departments throughout the 2016 season.”

LanierWorld’s signature waterfront eateries and watering holes, more than a dozen water slides and attractions, half mile stretch of white sandy beach, miniature golf course and zipline over the lake are stunning.  On Sunday, Sunset Cove features an all-day volleyball tournament on the beach.

“We are excited to present Memorial Day videos and special effects spectacular,” said Wahl.  We’ll relive great moments in recent American history and pay tribute to our brave servicemen and women who gave their last full measure of devotion to keep our country safe and free.”
