Results for Pan-American Games at Lake Lanier

The results for Pan-American Games held at Lake Lanier Olympic Park on May 19-22, 2016 have been tabulated and published.

According to the Lake Lanier Olympic Park website:

The Pan American Games [a.k.a the Pan Am Games] is a major sporting event in the Americas featuring summer sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The competition is held among athletes from nations of the Americas every four years … before the Summer Olympic Games.

Qualifying events for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio were held at a variety of locations, depending on the sport.  The Championships for Sprint Canoe/Kayak were held at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

The Pan American Games Movement consists of international sports federations, National Olympic Committees and organizing committees for each specific Pan American Games.  COPAC is the governing body for sprint canoe/kayak events.

We’re thankful that COPAC selected Lake Lanier Olympic Park as the location for their 2016 Championships which determined which athletes from participating countries will journey on to Olympic glory.

We look forward to great success for members of the Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club.
