Back in 2013, on a frigid Saturday morning, a herd of motorcycle riders gathered together to ride with the Hall County Sheriffs’ Office to raise money for charity on what they called Thunder in the Mountains.
And a good time was had by all!
Thunder in the Mountains was such a good idea, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office is doing it again on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
There are few ways to invest $25-30 that come close to the fun motorcyclists feel when law enforcement officers from neighboring towns and counties block off intersections so that we can ride through red lights … while they smile and wave.
Talk about priceless.
Honest. Motorcyclists are invited to ride with The Law around North Georgia for a couple of hours.
The entire event — no matter how much fun we have — is done to help a tremendously worthy cause: Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes!
Thunder in the Mountains will depart from and return to Laurel Park at the north end of Lake Lanier, off Cleveland Highway / Route 129, on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
If this charity ride is rained out, the backup date is September 12, same time, same location.
When we gather back at Laurel Park, we’ll share food, music and good times … that will benefit Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes!
