If have faith enough to believe such things, spring is scheduled to begin on Friday, March 20, 2015. Ten days later, Shady Grove Campground opens at 8:30 a.m., Monday, March 30. They’ll remain open until November 8.
Our friends at Forsyth County Parks and Recreation invite campers looking for a convenient vacation spot to the shores of Lake Lanier to spend an evening or 30 at Shady Grove Campground.
“We are very excited to welcome campers to Shady Grove Campground to officially begin the 2015 camping season,” said Parks and Recreation Director Jim Pryor. “This is a beautiful Lake Lanier destination campers enjoy every year.”
Shady Grove Campground has 109-acres with about 110 campsites. Amenities include:
- a beach and swim area
- boat ramp with courtesy dock
- group campsites with picnic shelters
- playground
- tent camping areas and
- campsites with water and 30 and 50 amp power hookups.
“Shady Grove Campground grows in popularity every year,” Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Tommy Bruce said. “During recent camping seasons, our campsite rentals have continued to increase. We are proud to offer such a great amenity here in Forsyth County.”
Shady Grove Campground Reservation Info
- Reservations are not taken in advance of the campground’s opening. Once the campground opens March 30 and for the remainder of the 2015 camping season, campsites may be reserved up to the 30 days in advance with full payment. These reservations may be made in person at the campground.
- Daily fees for campground use 30 amp electric site with water $26; 50 amp electric site with water $28; Tent camping site with no hookups $18; Group camping (north) $155; Group camping (south) $135; Visitor fee $2; Dump station $15.
- Shady Grove Campground is located at 7800 Shadburn Ferry Road in Cumming.
