As 2014 sinks into oblivion, Tiffany B. Potter is hoping we’ll let you know that the registration deadline for the annual Polar Bear Plunge, sponsored by the Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club (LCKC), is soon approaching.

As you will no doubt agree, Tiffany B. Potter is a fabulous name for anyone, but especially for OUR Tiffany B. Potter who is active with LCKC and is also an attorney.  That’s particularly odd because Tiffany seems to be pleasant, brilliant and trustworthy.  Go figure.

Tiffany B. Potter isn’t the only person around with an exceptional name.  Perhaps you know (ready?) Dixie Truelove!  That’s a Top Ten Name in anybody’s list.  Yes, Amanda Peacock and Priscilla Pilgrim rank at the top too.  Then there’s Amelia Fogg and Savannah Steele.

Now that this story has reached 200-words, we can get back to the Polar Bear Plunge.

The Polar Bear Plunge always takes place each year on January 1st.  For 2015, that’s on a Thursday.  If you want to be guaranteed a cool (get it?) T-shirt, be sure to register online by December 18th.  That’s the deadline for sponsors and for wackos who think it’s fun to dive into frigid waters — Where There Be Dragons — just for the heck of it.

I’ll pass, thank you.  But I’ll be there to take pictures!

Bring a towel, a good attitude and your most outrageous outfit to dunk in 2015!

Please Note:  If you’re not going in the water, please bring friends with cool names.  We can push them in when they least expect it.  They’ll make good material for post-Polar Bear Plunge stories. Thank you.

But wait!  There’s more!  If you get chilly in the water, don’t worry.  You can get chili in the boathouse at the Polar Bear Plunge Chili Cook Off.

C’mon!  Take the Polar Bear Plunge.
