Lake Lanier Association’s Executive Director Joanna Cloud brings us news of 20 new solar powered navigation lights on existing hazard markers in the southern part of Lake Lanier.

Twenty similar lights were installed in August of 2013.

Areas served by the lighted hazard markers include:

  • Bald Ridge Creek
  • Two Mile Creek and
  • Young Deer Creek.

Tom Child of Marine Specialties graciously provided crews and barge equipment for the installation of the materials.

Our friends with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary’s Flotilla 29 are contributing to this project by monthly monitoring of the lights to ensure they’re functioning properly.

This portion of the lake safety program has been made possible through the generous donations of Forsyth County and the Lake Lanier Association membership.

The Lake Lanier Association plans to continue expanding this program to additional areas of Lake Lanier as funding becomes available.
