Time to get your cluck on and make Chickenville — also known as Gainesville — proud!  The 10th Annual Spring Chicken Festival Chicken Cook-Off in downtown Gainesville struts into town on Saturday, April 26th, from 10 am – 4 pm.

Registration is underway for cook teams and parade participants for the 10th Annual Spring Chicken Festival Chicken Cook-Off’s two divisions: Professional and Backyard Bar-B-Q.  Prizes will be awarded in both categories.

The Grand Champion will receive $700 and proudly possess the coveted Chicken City Cup for one year.  The 2014 Spring Chicken Festival will kick off  with a 5k, Chicken City Parade, Cook-off, live entertainment, Re-Hatched upcycled art market, quilt show and kids zone!

The parade will include floats, vintage cars, and is sure to have some interesting chicken decorations.  Participants are encouraged to incorporate recycling when possible. The parade route will include the Gainesville Square.  Back by popular demand  “Re-Hatched” an upcycled/recycled art/craft market. There will be artists featuring creations made from recycled or repurposed materials.

NEW this year is Trash 2 Treasure.  A competition to create an art piece that reflects the spirit of the Spring Chicken Festival.   Three teams will compete against each other and will have 1 hour to create an art piece for prizes and a coveted T2T trophy! Registration is extremely limited…if you have what it takes, please fill out the application below!
