According to its website, Rivers Alive is Georgia’s annual volunteer waterway cleanup event that targets all waterways in Georgia, including streams, rivers, lakes, beaches and wetlands.

The mission of Rivers Alive — a Georgia Environmental Protection Division Outreach ProgramĀ — is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of Georgia’s water resources.

Big dreams aren’t accomplished by dreamers … they’re accomplished by groups of hard working individuals led by capable leaders.Ā  One such leader is Joanna Cloud of the Lake Lanier Association.

Joanna was honoredĀ to be named the Organizer of the Year for 2013 by Rivers Alive for the Lake Lanier Shore Sweep event that she helped organize and oversee.

Joanna Cloud is one of Lake Lanier’s greatest assets.Ā  We heartily concur with those who chose her for this presentation and acknowledgement of her skills and dedication.
