In the latest Lake Lanier Association newsletter, Executive Director Joanna Cloud says the continued installation of solar lights has been approved by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).  We’re thankful for Nick Baggett and his USACE crew.

More than 100 new solar lights will be installed between now and the end of 2015.  That completes the goal for the southern part of Lake Lanier and will mark the beginning of lights placed north of Browns Bridge Road.

Nothing can replace an alert boat operator but the lights provide an extra layer of security at night.

Despite crummy weather for Shore Sweep, advance locations saved the day.  Abundant junk was hauled out of Lanier and picked up by barges before most volunteers arrived.

The Lake Lanier Association hopes to remove abandoned boats and docks that are “all tore up” (as we say in the South) in 2016.  That’s not easy.  If you see a derelict dock or hull, contact the LLA or the USACE.  Involvement from the Lake Lanier community makes a difference.

Keep Lake Lanier, full, clean and safe.  Join the Lake Lanier Association.
