Volunteers all around Lake Lanier are talking trash!  Trash removal, that is.

They’re part of Shore Sweep 2013, when tons of trash and debris are removed from Lake Lanier and its shoreline.

The 25th Annual Shore Sweep takes place on Saturday, September 28th from 8 AM ’til 1 PM.

You don’t need a boat, but the Lake Lanier Association does need volunteers with boats too.

All the organizers really need is you … in clothes that you won’t mind getting wet or dirty.  They also advise folks not to wear sandals or flip-flops, to protect you from foot injuries.

Reservations for the volunteers are not required, but they’re helpful for planning purposes.

You’re welcome to come to any of eleven locations for Shore Sweep.

We’re very thankful for all the marinas around Lanier that pitching in!

  • Bald Ridge Marina
  • Habersham Marina
  • Port Royale Marina
  • Gainesville Marina
  • Sunrise Cove Marina
  • Aqualand Marina
  • Lanier Harbor Marina and
  • Holiday Marina.

Volunteers are welcome to help out here too:

  • Lake Lanier Islands
  • War Hill Park and
  • Clarks Bridge Park.

Come to Lake Lanier on Saturday, September 28th to take out the trash … from Lake Lanier.
