Morgan House Reportedly Resigns from Olympic Venue

Lake Lanier Olympic Park Manager Morgan House

Our friends with AccessWDUN reported on Friday, May 19, 2017, that Lake Lanier Olympic Park Manager Morgan House has tendered his resignation.

We do not doubt the story, although we have been unable to independently verify it, as of 2:30 PM.

We have appreciated Morgan’s tenure at the former site of the 1996 Olympic Games on Lake Lanier.

Morgan was a celebrated athlete and coach before accepting his position with what is now called the Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

According to AccessWDUN, a press release was distributed with this quote, presumably from Chair of the Gainesville-Hall ’96 committee Mimi Collins:

“During Morgan’s tenure and leadership, Clarks Bridge Park has been renamed Lake Lanier Olympic Park (LLOP), renovations and campus improvements of over $1.1 Million have been completed, LLOP has successfully hosted the 2016 Pan American Championships along with the 2016 and 2017 American Collegiate Rowing National Championships.”

Morgan House’s future plans were not announced.  We believe he will do well wherever he goes.

We look forward to updating this story when additional information is available.
