The Unique Shady Grove Campground Opens March 6, 2017

The best way to appreciate Lake Lanier and the unique Shady Grove Campground is to go away for a while.  When you return and compare it to wherever you were, you will have a deeper appreciation for the lovely setting of Georgia’s greatest lake, with hills in the background and abundant life all around.

The moment you witness Shady Grove Campground for yourself you might hear strains from that old mountain song that might have been written by a previous visitor.

Don’t be spooked if you hear Jean Ritchie sing,

Shady Grove, my little love
Shady Grove, I say
Shady Grove, my little love
Don’t wait till Judgment Day

This pride and joy of Forsyth County Parks & Recreation awaits your visit when it reopens on Monday, March 6, 2017.  Set your GPS for 7800 Allyn Lane Memorial Way in Cumming, on the western shore of Lake Lanier.
