The Crawford Long Museum and Jefferson Community Theatre present this year’s guided moonlight walk.  It will showcase a glimpse into Jefferson’s criminal justice past.  Actors in period costume will give first person accounts of their lives and stories of crime and punishment.

Tour attendees will first meet local historical figure Dr. Crawford Long (credited with first using anesthesia in surgery).  The walk will then go through downtown Jefferson and the Historic Jackson County Courthouse.

Actors will also portray the saints of Jefferson’s law enforcement, including a young Mary Collier, former sheriffs, Benjamin Collier and Miss Lurline Collier and Floyd “Fuzzy” Hoard, Solicitor at the courthouse and Police Chief Albert Westmoreland.
