Reporters and professional journalists must not insert their own opinions or biases into their stories. (Sure, they do it all the time, but officially they can’t.)
Not being an actual reporter or professional much of anything, I have the liberty to tell you to drop your plans for this weekend and head on over to Road Atlanta for the Mitty Races!
Nothing in your life could possibly be as important as watching restored a racecar (yes, that word is the same forward and backward, thank you) rip around the 2.54 mile track at speeds that would give the drivers’ insurance agents strokes.
The Mitty Races pit restored and vintage cars against one another for thrills, glory and a cool way to spend lots and lots of money. There’s room for you and your friends at Road Atlanta on Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th.
Talk. About. A blast!
The track is conveniently located near Hoooschton, Braselton, Chestnut Mountain, Flowery Branch, Gainesville and just about every other town in the three counties that converge near the track on Winder Highway (did I mention Winder?) just a bit southeast of State Route 211 on GA 53 … halfway between Buford and Jefferson.
Once you arrive your troubles are over! You can buy food (Sonny’s BBQ anyone?), T-shirts, racing gizmos and probably your very own racecar, if you have enough cash (and your wife is out of town).
You can bring your kids under 12 for free! (If you can get their attention long enough to invite them.) It’ll be a day no one will ever forget — even if nobody gets lost!
Be a hero. Take a kid to the races. Nobody has to know you enjoyed it the most.
