Here’s your big chance to blow the dust off your old car and go racing!
No, you cannot race your old beater, but it might get you all the way to Road Atlanta, not far from Chateau Elan in South Hall.
This weekend, September 19-22, 2013, the old cars entered in the Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) Atlanta Historic Races will revive their old glory (but not like some men try to do by dyeing their graying hair jet black) by blasting around the track with other vintage Porsches, MGs, Alfa Romeos, Jaguars and Corvettes.
Road Atlanta fans will be able to get an up-close look at these legendary cars in the paddock. Then, they can experience the sights and sounds of retro racing in HSR’s “time machine” — a cool gizmo that takes you back in time to watch these amazing treasures in action. All eras and types of road racing machines will be on hand from all over the country.
In addition to all HSR classes, the weekend features:
- Historic Formula Atlantic
- Formula 2
- Historic stock cars
- The Cayman Interseries and
- Klubsport Challenge.
- The Historic Moto Grand Prix is scheduled too!
As always, tickets will be available at the gate. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free at Road Atlanta.
