You and I are not as rich as rich people, so we probably won’t ever face the enormous struggle of trying to rent Lake Lanier for our own personal party.  But if we win the lottery or figure out how to turn kudzu into gold, this information might come in handy.

Boat regattas, fishing tournaments, gonzo wedding receptions with 1,000 boat flotillas, and other organized events require permission from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

Yes, Grasshopper, there is a fee.

USACE permits minimize scheduling conflicts between, for example, bridezilla flotillas that could possible devolve into raucous potatoe gun wars worthy of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.  The permits also prevent overuse of the lake, ensure equal access to recreation areas and enhance public safety.
