We lost another swimmer on Thursday, July 26, 2012, when Rodaigo Bernal Prejo, 44, of Cumming, drowned at West Bank Park off Buford Dam Road on Lake Lanier.
The incident occurred about 3 PM. Rescue crews from Forsyth County recovered Mr. Trejo’s body in less than an hour, due in part to eyewitnesses to the tragedy.
Mr. Trejo was taken to Northside Hospital Forsyth, where authorities pronounced him dead.
We extend our condolences to Mr. Trejo’s family and friends.
We also ask everyone who swims, fishes, water skis or boats at Lake Lanier to use caution as they enjoy the water.
