Click on the name of each location below for additional information on scenic and safe Lake Lanier campgrounds or to make reservations for your next pleasant visit.
A quick note on booking the best deals: I’ve included many of the direct links to each campground below, but I’d also recommend checking out Lake Lanier’s Campspot here as well, for two reasons.
- Campspot is a marketplace and provides pricing promotions and real-time availability that most campgrounds don’t have the ability to keep updated on their own.
- Campspot has some lesser-known, off-beaten-path campgrounds and camping locations (some hidden gems).

Best Lake Lanier RV Parks
If you are specifically traveling with an RV, many of Lake Lanier’s campsites will work, but a few stand out as the best options, both in terms of amenities and service.
- Camp Margaritaville: More expensive, but more amenities (see the section on “RV Resorts” below)
- River Forks Park: Fantastic VIEWS if that’s what you value most.
- Shady Grove Campground: Some tent sites, but predominantly an RV camp.
- Van Pugh South: Smaller and harder to get reservations, but well managed and convenient location.
- Old Federal: Well managed by the Army Corps, known as one of the top RV sites.
- Bald Ridge Creek: More private, away from the touristy areas.
