Our pal, Stacey Dickson — who gracefully directs the action at the Lake Lanier Convention & Visitor Bureau — has breaking news! No, it’s not “Nip it! Nip it! Nip it!’ But, that’s close. Mayberry is coming to Flowery Branch, with none other than the almost-original Officer Barney Fife on May 18, 2018, for an evening of fun and citizens’ arrests.
On Friday, May 18th, Flowery Branch will be transformed into “Mayberry on Main.”
You’re invited to stroll down Main Street and pretend it’s the mythical town of Mayberry. This unique experience (unless you do this when you forget your meds) will include Barney Woods of Fort Payne, Alabama, a nationally known impersonator of Barney Fife.
Please Note: Do not give additional bullets to Officer Fife. Thank you.
That’s just the beginning. Visit Aunt Bee’s Bake Sale with fried apple pies and other treats.
Activities include a choo-choo train bounce/obstacle course; Apple peeling contest and LIVE music from Georgia Mountain Stringband.
