First we see bright red cardinals. Â Then, a couple of perky robins on our lawns. Â They’re the two immutable signs that Sunset Cove at Lanier Islands is about to open for a new season! Â Oh, yeah … and spring is on the way.
Saturday, March 4th was the first day of the 2017 season for fun in the sun at Sunset Cove. Â The dandiest sand known to man!
Don’t want to dip a toe in the water?  No problem.  Dine by the beach and relax until you feel the urge to splash into Lanier.
Sunset Cove Restaurant
This open-air eatery provides stunning views and lakeside breezes, as you munch char-grilled burgers and sip something cool.  Absorb the suns rays and live music.  You can watch your favorite team on one of the flat-screen TVs or build a sand-castle with a stranger, if you prefer.
Sunset Cove at Lanier Islands will only be open for weekends — starting at 11 AM — for the first month or so. Â After that … it’s summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime!
Yes, it’s $15 to pay for parking — including walking, jogging, bike riding or simply standing around looking all buff and adorable. Â No, that doesn’t include admission to Sunset Cove.
- Beach Access is free to all visitors of the Islands from April 1st — April 7th!
- During the weekend of April 8th and 9th, there is an admission fee of $15/person.
- Here’s more good news!  Pint-sized patrons (kids 6 and under) will be admitted to the Beach at Sunset Cove for FREE throughout Spring Break April 1st through the 9th!
Closing time is a bit flexible too. Â If it’s a beautiful day and everyone is having fun, they’re not going to kick sand in your face and yell at you to go home at 7 PM on the dang dot. Â They might be cranking out the fun at 8 PM or 9. Â Roll with it.
That’s livin’ the life at Sunset Cove.
