Our most recent snowstorm and ice escapades wiped out many scheduled activities around Lake Lanier. One biggie that was canceled was the Buy Local / Safe & Green Expo, sponsored by the Greater Hall County Chamber of Commerce.
You might still have a few flakes around your house (not counting family members and strays) but it appears that we’ll be blizzard free for the next few days. That means “we’re a go!” for the rescheduled Buy Local / Safe & Green Expo this Thursday, February 20th.
Dozens of local businesses will tell you how their goods and services can make your life as perfect as you always dreamed it would be … or, better anyway. The folks with Safe & Green will have industry representatives to connect you to environmentally friendly services and safety program initiatives for the workplace.
The Expo takes place from 2 PM until 5 PM. But the fun really starts with Business After Hours, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Everybody has fun at Business After Hours — even stodgy bankers and boring insurance salesmen. Come and see for yourself. This month’s Business After Hours is sponsored by AccessNorthGA.com and WDUN Radio.
Not only will you learn that Gainesville’s business leaders are real people, you can have free food from Oakwood Occasions and tap your toes to music by The Swing Daddies while you gawk.

Regions Bank is partnering with United Way of Hall County for a drawing for a Regions Green Bicycle and Helmet. Each person attending the Buy Local / Safe & Green Expo will have the opportunity to win a Regions Green Bicycle with a $10 donation to United Way of Hall County. The bike/helmet will be on display, and the drawing will be at 6:30 pm at the Business After Hours. You don’t have to be present to win, and bike/helmet will be delivered to winner.
