Our home team, The Gwinnett Stripers, is in first place in the International League South, as of 5 PM on July 31, 2019. Their record of .593 (64 wins and 44 losses) is the best in the three-division league. As things stand, they’ll be in the playoffs again this year!

Years ago, I knew a scrawny, awkward kid named Elwood. He drove a beat-up Volkswagon Bug. He also had a bunch of black belts and was the best in martial arts. The Stripers might also have a funny name, but they’re the best — the very best — in their league.
