Gwinnett Stripers is the New Name for the Gwinnett Braves

The Gwinnett Braves baseball team traded that great name for a new one.  Ready?  The Gwinnett Stripers!  Now, it’s all about that Bass, and triples.  Go Stripers!

Please spell the team’s new name with only one “p” not with two, as this news source reported: “The game will start at 6:35 pm in Columbus. After that, the Paw Sox will come home to play the Gwinnett Strippers for 3 games.”

Yes, our team is named after a fish.  At least we always wear complete uniforms as we play.

Stripers’ Max Fried!  Go Stripers!

Let’s just say … not everyone loves the new identity.

This is about baseball, people, not about how someone probably lost a bet and had to throw out a great name for a team and was forced to change it.

Look on the bright side!  At least we’re not the Gwinnett Gar or the Gwinnett Crappie!

We’re the Gwinnett Stripers and that’s all there is to it.

Once you get to the ballpark — which is as easy as finding a Waffle House after sunset — everything will be fine.  It’s a mile or two east of the Mall That Ate Georgia in Buford

Every seat in the clean stadium is a good seat.  Every strikeout is something to yell about and every base hit is a good reason to shout and jump and love every minute of every ballgame.

Besides, our new name is still better than the Toledo Mudhens.  So, there’s that.

There’s plenty of room for the kids to run around.  Every game has something fun for everyone.

I wouldn’t care if they named the team the Gwinnett Goofballs.  Going to the games is … and always will be … a ton of fun from the first pitch to the last out.

Still not enough for you?  How about fireworks after the game on Friday night, April 27th!

This is still our team.  Our baseball family.  Go Stripers!!!
