Atlanta Open Water Swim at Lanier Islands

Swim Across America is an organization that “Makes Waves to Fight Cancer!”  On Saturday, September 17, 2016, you may join them in their quest to put an end to cancer by attending their Atlanta Open Water Swim at Lanier Islands.

Swimmers of all ages are invited to raise funds for the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

You may swim as an individual, join a team or create your own team.  If an open water swim, as in Lake Lanier, sounds daunting, you may attend a pre-race clinic to gain confidence.  Better yet, you may request a “swim angel,” who will swim alongside you for encouragement.  If you would like to be an angel swimmer, or would like to have one assigned to you, please contact Megan Neyer at [email protected].

The goal for this event is to raise $300,000.  Participants under 18 are required to raise a minimum of $100 by the day of the event.  Those 18 and older must raise at least $250 by event day.
