Help Wanted: Olympic Venue Manager

Our friends who manage the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue at Clarks Bridge Park in Gainesville, GA, are looking for a Venue Manager, according to board member and terrific person Stacey Dickson.

Here’s the Deal

JOB DUTIES

The Lake Lanier Olympic Venue Manager facilitates and implements the comprehensive operation of Clarks Bridge Park including the Rowing & Canoe/Kayak Center, including:

  • administration of the operation
  • maintenance of the facilities
  • ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines of stakeholders.

Manages and coordinates day-to-day operations of facility to include:

  • event support
  • facility marketing
  • maintenance
  • custodial services
  • security/parking services
  • utility services
  • telecommunication services
  • rentals and scheduling
  • safety and maintenance.

Venue Manager Duties

  1. Works to preserve the legacy of the Olympic venue for the community through the development of an internationally recognized regatta center and premier athletic training facility.
  2. Knowledge of Olympic flat water sports including rowing, canoe and kayak is preferred but not required.
  3. Develops and administers grant applications for the facility; Identifies plans, directs, and coordinates new revenue opportunities; Solicits and secures sponsorships; Increase public awareness of the facility and its events, programs and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Oddly enough, knowing me personally won’t help you get the job.  Go figure.

You’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
  • Four years of  facility management experience with three years in a leadership capacity at a senior management level
  • Human resource management including personnel and contract labor
  • Fiscal management; Capital improvements and project development.
  • Ability to organize and direct personnel and volunteers.
  • Good organizational, management, human relations, and technical skills.
