The Bear on the Square Mountain Festival in Dahlonega

The Bear on the Square Mountain Festival in Northeast Georgia’s quaint village of Dahlonega starts Friday, April 20th and runs through Sunday the 22nd.

The organizers made the costly decision to offer free music the whole weekend at the MainStage concert tent in Hancock Park.  If you have the opportunity, we ask you to help support the 501(c)(3) organization that produces this great family-friendly event.

Glenda Pender, president of Bear on the Square, said that once again, the MainStage lineup offers a number of acts which will perform bluegrass and old-time music from the Southern Appalachian region, as well as other musical genres.

In announcing the decision not to charge admission to the festival’s MainStage Tent, Pender said, “We’re pleased to make the MainStage performances available to all at no charge this year and hope we’ll fill every seat for the great acts we’ll have on stage.  We also want to encourage folks to visit our traditional Mountain Crafts Market on the square, our Country Store and our Bear on the Square Merchandise locations as well as Dahlonega’s shops and eateries.”

You’ll have a passel of ways to enjoy the Mountain Festival.  You’ll hear excellent music from local and nationally prominent artists.  You can graze through acres of amazing artwork … buy cool mountain stuff at Friday night’s auction … and dance the evening away on Saturday.  Sunday brings the beloved Gospel Jam.

Everyone’s welcome — even grumpy people who love music — because everyone will have a good time.
