Emergency responders, law enforcement officials and Protectors of Lake Lanier were given a hero’s welcome on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Buford Dam Park, near the headquarters of the Army Corps of Engineers on Lake Lanier.
The Partners in Public Service Appreciation Luncheon was a tremendous success.
Not every volunteer, law enforcement officer, diver, ranger or emergency worker could be there, but a couple of hundred were able to attend a free BBQ, delightful music by Brian Jarrett, a perfect day on the lake, camaraderie with other heroes and very few speeches.
These ladies and gentlemen are the ones who save lives, and protect individuals, families and property who share the treasure we know as Lake Lanier. They work tirelessly to rescue those in trouble — in jobs that are rarely what anyone would call a picnic.
Words cannot express our gratitude for these servants, but some fun music, great food and perfect weather helped.
