Gainesville Farmers Market ~ Fridays on the Square

All sorts of farmers, singers and crafty folks invite you to the Gainesville Farmers Market for good food, good music and great locally grown produce.

Take a walk on the fresh side around Gainesville’s Historic Square on Friday afternoons from 2:30 until 6:30 on June 23rd and June 30th, 2017, and beyond.

You’re just not going to find this assortment of items at a mall or your favorite dollar store.  This is local, fresh-picked produce, honey, farm-fresh eggs, pasture-raised pork and beef, jam, baked goods, cut flowers, hand-made crafts, food, cooking demonstrations and live music too.

Stroll around the shops and restaurants to see what other treats you’ll find on the Square.

This is not your average trucks-in-a-parking-lot farmers market.  No sir-eee!  For example:

All vendors are hand-picked and invited to participate by the market manager. This is not an open market.

It’s recommended that folks wanting to become vendors visit the Market first to see what types of vendors are already part of the Market and who our customers are to make sure that what you are offering is unique and that people will be interested. We have limited space and a limited customer-base and, therefore, do not have multiple vendors selling the same items.

Food purveyors must work out of a state licensed kitchen. Although many markets allow products made in home kitchens, certified by the Department of Agriculture for Cottage Industry use, this market does not.

We are not a craft fair. We are interested in craftspeople with handmade crafts that fit into a food-oriented farmers market. Craftspeople must reside in Hall County.

“We are not a craft fair.”  Okay.  Sheesh.

At least they allow Michael Tackett, Master Herbalist, and Haven Hollow Herbs in Braselton, to pitch their wares.

Haven Hollow is dedicated to inspiring and empowering others to pursue a more fulfilling lifestyle through a blend of exercise, balanced diet and natural remedies.
In addition to the provision of organic herbs and fresh produce, we educate our clients through one-on-one consultations, group seminars, exercise courses and foraging sessions to encourage them to play an active role in a life well-lived.
Haven Hollow also sells “really cool bamboo poles and birdhouses.”
