Put the Eco-Fest and Butterfly Release on your calendars, or the day may flutter by without you and your family experiencing the delight of 1,500 Painted Lady butterflies taking flight on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
What’s the only thing that could make this outing more fun for kids? Facepainting! That’s available too.
As usual, this perky event takes place at Wilshire Trails Park, just down the road from Gainesville High School. After all the glorious critters take to the skies, go for a walk, have a picnic or let the kids run around on the playground.
Booths will be set up to let you know about the ways you can help preserve the environment while having fun. Remember the Butterfly Release for years with a T-shirt. They’ll be for sale, along with concessions to quench your thirst and appetite.
Be sure to stay for the paper sailboat races!
Have a great time for a great cause at the Eco-Fest and Butterfly Release on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 1 PM until about 4. The Butterfly Release takes place at the Pavilion at 3 PM.
Parking is sparse at the park, so take a free shuttle from Gainesville High School, Woods Mill or Centennial Schools.
We’re thankful for the sponsorship of this flighty party by the Friends of Gainesville Parks & Greenways, Inc. They’re a non-profit organization with
a mission to serve as a cultural, educational, and recreational resource to develop, beautify, maintain, restore and preserve passive and active leisure pursuits in Gainesville, Hall County.
