New Racing Rules of Sailing on January 1, 2017

Isn’t that always how it goes?  Just when you are SURE that you have memorized all the racing rules of sailing, the rules change.

Please don’t blame our friends at the Lake Lanier Sailing Club.  It’s not their fault that new racing rules of sailing go into effect January 1, 2017.

We have not checked all the fine print; therefore, we might not be exactly correct on all the minutiae.

We are pretty sure that the advantage will no longer give the serve to boats on your right when the score is love-love in the final chukka when facing a left-handed pitcher on the free-throw line, even if you are wearing an approved life preserver.  Sorry.

Better to read all the rules for yourself, matey.  The Lake Lanier Sailing Club can get you copies at a discount, if you’re a member of MVP.

Please Note:  Sorry, there isn’t room to remind you that the Lake Lanier Sailing Club urges you to give Port Starboard socks as stocking stuffers this Christmas.

Even if you’re between yachts, you can still join the Lake Lanier Sailing Club!
