Gwinnett Braves Make Governors’ Cup Playoffs!

The G-Braves earned the team’s first-ever International League South Division championship and their first Governors’ Cup Playoff berth since 2009 by defeating the Charlotte Knights on September 5, 2016 by a score of 6-2.

Yes, most of us were watching re-runs of the Munsters or Seinfeld and didn’t notice.  That’s just sad.  When did we lose that “take me out to the ballgame” attitude that made America great?

The Gwinnett Braves are in the dang playoffs!  They might win it all!  Who cares if Ginger and the professor make a nuclear reactor or if Barney shoots his lone bullet — again?

I’m heading to Coolray Field, right by the Mall of Georgia, to watch our division champs whump the IL West Division champion Columbus Clippers on Friday night at 7:05.  We already beat them in the series opener on Wednesday, September 7th, 5-4.  Close, but we won with a three-run homer by Daniel Castro.  Talk about exciting!

The winner of game two is undecided, as I write this story.  One thing is certain, we’ll be playing ball on Friday night the 9th at home starting at 7:05 PM.  Gates open at 6 PM.
