So, where were you at noon on Saturday, February 6, 2016? Not at the Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club’s 2016 Polar Bear Plunge, evidently. I sheesh at you. Barely a few dozen brave and frozen bodies and souls showed up to jump into Lake Lanier for charity, if not sanity.
The event was postponed from New Year’s Day due to flooding and flotsam in Lake Lanier. A good time was had by all … especially those of us who didn’t dive into the murky deep and chilled out afterward with some super chili.

Thanks to all who helped the Polar Bear Plunge raise money for the non-profit Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club.

Yes, she really did push her sister into the drink. Everyone laughed … even the pushee.

Not many guys are this coordinated. Talk about three (about to be very) cool guys!

Who could rock SpongeBob like Sarah Pruitt? No one, that’s who!

Sure, we just thought two ladies happened to be out for a walk in their bathrobes on the docks at the Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club on a cold afternoon in February.
Probably happens all the time, right?
No! They were Polar Bear Plungers!
The first lady (the pretty blonde) was hoping she could master Walking on Water on her first try.
Ooops. That didn’t last long.

Looks like belly-flopping takes a bit of practice too.
Let’s hope this gentleman doesn’t go for the high dive into a kiddie pool trick too soon.

Last, but not least, we bring you the 2016 Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club’s Calendar Girls! Yes, they were a bit late, but they made a (ready?) big splash!
