Rain Fills Lake Lanier & Creeps Fill It With Trash

Yes, we need rain or everything but Justin Beiber and cockroaches will die.  I get it.  But when it rains for 14 of 15 days in Gainesville (October 26 – November 9, 2015), it’s time for some sunshine, please.

Thankfully, Tuesday, November 10th was sunny and warm … after starting out with fog at the airport.

Wunderground.com reports we’ve had 9.09″ of rain in the first 10 days of November.

Add that to October’s 6.14″ and we had a total of 15.23″ of rainy, wet, soggy rain in 40 days.  (Forty days.  Sound familiar?)

According to the US Army Corps of Engineers, between October 26th and November 9, 2015, Lake Lanier’s water level rose by 2.82 feet (33.84″) to 1070.17 — two tiny inches over full winter pool.

All that rain … to bring up Lanier by about three feet.  But it’s good to have a full lake after the rain.

We’re thankful for the Lake Lanier Association and all their work to keep the lake full.  Sadly, their efforts to keep it clean never seem to be enough.

Trashy creeps dumped more trash near Six Mile.  We hope you’ll join the Lake Lanier Association and be among the good guys fighting for Lake Lanier.
