Our pal Brenda Miller from the Lake Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club (LCKC) shared some good news with us about how our local paddlers fared at theĀ USA Canoe/Kayak Sprint National Team Trials recently held in Oklahoma City.
According to Brenda, seven of the eleven paddlers selected to the 2015 USA Sprint National Team are members of the Lanier Canoe and Kayak club!
2012 Olympian Tim Hornsby — along with teammates Stanton Collins and Chris Miller — have been named to the Menās Kayak group.
Local canoers, Ben Hefner, Ian Ross and Gavin Ross make up three-fourths of the Menās Canoe group. Ā Alex McLain earned her way onto the Womenās kayak group.
These paddlers along, with Coach Claudiu Ciur, Ā head to Europe this month for World Cup 1 in Montemor-O-Vehlo, Portugal and World Cup 2 in Duisburg, Germany.
And you thought paddling was painful.
