Gwinnett County Police Begin Clergy Citizen’s Police Academy

gcpdThis is a tough time in America to be a law enforcement officer.  Cops are getting shot at traffic stops and many citizens fear the police.  Instead of simply talking about these issues, the Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) is doing something to help.  They’ve announced their first-ever Clergy Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA).

The mission of the Clergy Citizen’s Police Academy is to create and develop a growing nucleus of responsible, well-informed citizens and clergy members who want to learn more about this police department near Lake Lanier.

Members of the CPA will be able to learn about the following portions of GCPD:

  • Organizational Structure of the Gwinnett County Police Department

  • Use of Force
  • Internal Affairs
