If ever there were a place created for free olde tyme music, first dates, buying treasures, popping The Question or celebrating a treasured anniversary, it’s Dahlonega.
Dahlonega’s fame among Appalachian Trail enthusiasts extends beyond its mere proximity to the Trail.
The town welcomes adventurers who hit the Trail and sends them off each spring with the Dahlonega Trail Fest. This year’s Trail Fest was held on the weekend of March 14th.
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy appreciates Dahlonega so much the town has been awarded the honor of Appalachian Trail Community.

Dahlonega Trail Fest 2014 was a rare time for hikers to gather together to share past victories and fantasies of future hikes. Music, speakers, video presentations, vendors and celebrities added extra value to the experience.
