Festivities get underway early in many places this year, with fireworks scheduled to hit the sky on Wednesday, July 3rd, shortly after dark.
If you have smuggled illegal fireworks into Georgia and you’re intent on blowing them — and a finger or two — off, at least follow a couple of guidelines:
- Don’t throw firecrackers at others. If you’re that dumb, cleanse the gene pool and blow yourself up instead.
- If/when fireworks don’t go off, otherwise known as “duds,” don’t try to relight them. Yes, you-know-who will be compelled to do try, but unless you like the nickname “Lefty,” we urge you to leave them alone.
- Yes, you are tougher than anyone can imagine. But holding firecrackers in your hands as they go off only makes you look more dumb than anyone can imagine.
- Cool uncles don’t let kids light firecrackers — they protect them from danger.
- Don’t tie firecrackers together to blow them all off at once, even if you saw Goober do it on Andy of Mayberry. That’s only a TV program. Really. Honest. Really.
