Promotional materials call Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Dawson County a “20-acre agri-tourism complex.” Sheesh.
Don’t let that city-slicker lingo keep you away from a good-old time down at the farm.
Hayrides (kissing optional), a corn maze that Lewis & Clark would get lost in, marshmallow roasting and a giant bonfire after the hayride await you and your friends.
If you’re at Uncle Shuck’s on Saturday, November 3rd from 7-9 PM, you’ll get another down-home country treat: a jazz band concert with Lanier Jazz — a 19-member band based out of Oakwood that specializes in the sounds of Blues and Jazz.
(Wonder if the jazz band plays “Rocky Top”?)
Uncle Shuck’s will be open weekends through Sunday, November 18th.
Any child under the age of four is free for all activities at Uncle Shuck’s. The tractor-drawn hayrides have wood benches and hay bales, suitable for old geezers like me or more frisky couples. In the evening, marshmallows are provided for toasting by the bonfire at the end of the hayride.
Three intricate pathways and two bridges make up the corn maze, which occupy the giant cornfield adjacent to the Etowah River. The trails measure close to five miles in length. Maps are provided to all maze visitors, so you might not want to invite your mother-in-law after all.
Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is located two miles west from the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall on Georgia Highway 53.
