Lake Lanier is always perfect, but even perfection can get a bit old once in a while.

You don’t have to drink wine to get high on life at Crane Creek Vineyards in Young Harris.  Treat your designated drivers to a day in the Northeast Georgia Mountains, but don’t be surprised if it takes a while to wake them from their naps.

The next time you hear the mountains calling your name, look at Visit Northeast Georgia Mountains  for the perfect spots to get a little motivation to face life … and smile.

Take a tip from a guy who has tasted some of the finest food offered in them thar hills.  Don’t go back home without stopping at The Back Porch Oyster Bar in Dahlonega for a taste of their Thai Chili Calamari.

Granted, it doesn’t look all that good.  I mean, what the heck are all those squiggly things?

(Better not to ask, trust me.)

Eat the Thai Chili Calamari anyway.  I have never tasted a meal that was so delicious.  In my life.  Ever.

Of course, I haven’t eaten everywhere in the Northeast Georgia Mountains.

There might be something even better out there … waiting for you and your friends.
