Autumn returns on Thursday, September 22, 2016.  The best possible way to celebrate the most beautiful season of the year is the 2016 Chattahoochee Mountain Music Festival on Saturday, September 24th, beginning at noon at Don Carter State Park at the northern end of Lake Lanier.

The beach at Don Carter State Park is pristine.  The trails are safe, pretty and enjoyable.  The boat launches, playgrounds and everything else are practically perfect in every way.

But there’s nothing that compares to the fun we all have at the annual Chattahoochee Mountain Music Festival!  Glorious old-time music that could make an oak table shake a leg will be played live and lively by some of our region’s best performers.

If there’s one drawback to the park, it’s how far you have to travel to get a meal.  Except during the 2016 Chattahoochee Mountain Music Festival!  They’ll have succulent BBQ for sale right there.

After a tune or two, take a wander over to see what unique arts and crafts are for sale.  Hard to believe, I know, but some of the artists will actually accept money in trade for their wares.

The Friends of Don Carter State Park are pulling out all the stops just to make this special occasion even more special than the past two years.

Bring your family and friends to the park — at 5000 N Browning Bridge Road in Gainesville — Saturday, September 24th.  It’s just five bucks to enter the park.  There’s no charge for the priceless music.
